Robert Woodward

February 4, 1942 — September 26, 2013

Robert Roy Woodward Sr. (Woody), owner of Bay City Tattoo, left to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 26,, 2013 following a brief illness. He passed away in his home surrounded in love by his wife, children, family and animals.

He lived life with more excitement, adventure, boldness, and with more power and respect than most men, both in his work and personal life. Woody was a strong, talented man who helped anyone and anything in need, and was always there for the “under dog”. In his career, he was an Ironworker for 25 years after a brief service in the U.S. Army. He then opened his own restaurant the Shrimp Shack, and then eventually opened Bay City Tattoo, which has prospered for over 20 years now. Riding his Harley, fishing on his boat, and traveling were some of the things that brought him the most enjoyment in life. They all gave him the ultimate feeling of freedom. He also had a green thumb like no other. He loved and adored his children and was the definition of a father. His grandchildren, family, animals, and friends meant the world to him. He also loved the Lord very much. Last but by no means least, he received and held onto something that very few ever achieve in life. He was married to his soul mate who never left his side no matter what. The two of them were unstoppable for 36 years. He loved her fiercely and intently for all the right reasons. And for the rest, he was truly blessed.

Woody is preceded in death by his father Stanley Woodward Sr., mother Dorothy Harmon Stubenhofer, step-father Monty Stubenhofer, two brothers, Kenny and Stanley Jr., a sister Carol Woodward Mims, an infant son, and an infant grandson Coty.

He is survived by his wife Annette Flagella Woodward, 7 children, Debbie Woodward Chludzinski, John Woodward (Heather), Kirt Malinowski (Mindy), Robbie Stanton, Lisa Palotas and Andrea Woodward Moffett (Alex) all of Erie; and Rob Woodward Jr. (Kelly) of Huntington, WV. He is also survived by his grandchildren Josh, Olivia, Ryan, Caroline, Jason, Alexis, John, Molly, Mandy, Telashia, LaRajah, Lavone, John Henry and Alauna; two great-grandchildren Kaden and Landon and many extended family and close friends. Woody leaves behind his five dogs Bo, Biscuit, Peanut, Dixie and Angus; three cats Murry, Henry and Straya.
