Robert Charles “Bob” White, age 83 of Fairview, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, following an extended illness.
He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on May 6, 1931 as a son to the late Floyd and Marvelle White. Bob was a graduate of Lakeview High School in 1949 and Western Michigan University in 1957, where he received a degree in Business Administration. After his third semester at Western, Bob put college on hold for four years to serve his country during the Korean conflict. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant during his assignment to the 2nd AACS Mobile Squadron. On May 22, 1964, he married Patricia Dawn James. Settling in Fairview in 1971, he was a business consultant and accountant and co-owner with Richard Reim of Professional Management of Erie for many years.
An active member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church, Bob volunteered his time to a variety of causes and programs. He especially enjoyed his service at the food pantry whose mission is to serve with grace those in need of food supplement.
The success story of his life, however, was the endless patience, understanding, and skillful guidance he graciously provided to everyone around him. He was a life coach and made a difference in the lives of all those he touched. Bob will be remembered for his smile, his warmth, his positive energy, his embracing hugs, his off-wit humor, and, above all else, his gift of unconditional love - the ultimate supplement to life.
