Robert Welkner, Jr.

Robert “Bob” C. Welkner, Jr. age 35, of Millcreek, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his residence.

He was born in Erie on May 15, 1981, a son of Robert C. Welkner, Sr. of St. Thomas, PA and Louise Welkner Pier and her husband Terry of Millcreek.

Bob graduated from McDowell High School in 2000 and then went on to receive an Associate’s Degree in computer science. He was currently working as a landscaper.

Bob loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, kayaking, camping and the River house. His greatest love was being a dad to his children.

He was preceded in death by a brother Billy Welkner; his grandparents, William and Marjorie Wojtecki; a nephew, Kristopher Pierson; his aunts, Gloria Fiedler and Shirley Divell; and his Bro Jamie Rhoades.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two children, Robert C. Welkner III and Charley L. Welkner of Fairview; two sisters, Lisa Welkner of Millcreek and Diane Rhoades and her husband Mike of East Springfield; two step sisters, Heather and Allison Pier of Girard; the mother of his children, Amy Gray of Fairview; his god parents, James and Robin Calkins of Harborcreek; and a niece Erica Pierson of East Springfield. He is further survived by aunts, cousins and friends.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the Burton Funeral Home.
