Robert William Thomas “Tomas” age 54, of Erie passed away on December 14, 2018.
He was born in Denver CO, on August 1, 1964.
Tomas served in the United State Air Force from 1972-1977 when he received an honorable discharge.
He defined himself as a Poet with passion and skill with words. Appreciating art, books, and music, he loved to dance, sing, and play guitar.
With a sarcastic inappropriate sense of humor, he was always finding the joke with his fun creative mind.
He remained independent with a strong spirit, and embraced freedom with a F the system attitude.
He adored his mother who gave him a heart filled with immense love and gentle care and comedy. He cried openly in love and in laughter. He loved family, friends, beer, cigarettes, guns, women, and Jager. Carlos Santana and Bob Dylan influenced his hippie soul.
In his heart and mind, nature was his home, a skillful camper who literally hugged trees and made you hug them too! He connected to Native American thought and traditions.
He will be freed with Reckless Abandon at Lost Park in the Rocky Mountains, camping with an old friend.
In the Words of the late great Poet Tomas:
I believe when you die
that you just kinda boogie
through infinity
and how you leave this Earth,
your state of mind, your state of being
determine your direction”.
“…..perhaps you can stop and feel at any given instant that life…. is….precious…. Life is poetry.
