Robert I. Sturdivant, age 68, of Girard, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at his home. Born September 11, 1944, in Erie, he was the son of Marcy Curry Sturdivant and the late Robert L. Sturdivant.
Bob was a l963 graduate of Academy High School and served in the US Army. He had worked as a mechanic at Mack Truck and Austin Concrete and was alley manager at Westway Lanes. Bob enjoyed working on cars and collecting model cars. He belonged to AA for 33 years and was a member of the PBA and Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his father, Bob was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Faith Sturdivant and Jennifer Holby. He is survived by his wife, Karen Pelkowski Sturdivant of Girard, his mother Marcy Sturdivant of Erie; his children: David Stevens and his wife Brandie of Lake City, daughter Kimberly Pacuraw and her husband Bobby of Parrish, FL, Kurin Albrew and her husband Justin of Lake City; and from a previous marriage: Robert and his wife Beth, Jack and his wife Carla, Nick and his wife Julia, Tara Crockett, Jill Vandyke, Corinne Simanowski, and Hope Flick and her husband James, Kookie Johnston and her husband J.J., and Robin Holby and her husband Joe; grandchildren: Alex, Victoria, Jake, Jadon, Mason, Kaden, Robbie, Grace, Michael, David, Hanna, Hayley, Nicholas, Kylie, Brittany, Amanda, Colyn, Matthew and Michael.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in Burton's All Faiths Chapel with Rev.
