Robert M. “Chuck” Snyder, age 77, of Erie, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Staten Island, NY, on July 27, 1940, a son of the late Robert W. and Winifred Hekking Snyder.
Chuck was a graduate of the City University of New York and worked as an accountant and controller during his career. Chuck pursued a varied career with many years at Parker White Metal, now PHB, Bogart Graphics Group and finally Buckman, Buckman and Reid in New Jersey.
Chuck also served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Engman.
Chuck is survived by two sons, Heath Snyder and Jeremy Snyder; a daughter, Marnie Woodworth; three sisters, Vivian Snyder, Beatrice Bokert and Dorothy Braisted; three grandsons, Reece and Keifer Snyder and Tyler Woodworth; a granddaughter, Jacara Woodworth and his ex-wife and best friend Carol Snyder. He leaves his beloved family with fond memories of his quick wit, dry sense of humor and a lifelong love of music, books and utterly terrible jokes.
Friends are invited to attend a time of sharing at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue,) on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
