Robert V. Rapp age 70, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 30, 2017 in Palmetto Florida.
He was born in Erie, PA on November 2, 1946, a son of the late Vincent Q. and F. Mae Zurn Rapp.
He graduated from McDowell high School and went on to serve in the United States Navy. He then attended Gannon University and Penn State. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #67, Zukor Club, and the VFW Post #470.
Bob was self-employed and owned and operated Rapp Automotive and Bathroom and Kitchen Solutions.
He enjoyed fishing, go cart racing, boating, and most importantly, spending time with his family. Bob was also a master tinkerer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Faith Anderson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn Billig Rapp; two daughters, Christen Rapp Anderson and Amy Kossbiel; a son, Matthew Rapp and his wife Kielly; eight grandchildren, RJ, Lindsay and Cody Anderson, Ashley, Colten, Rachel, and Nolan Kossbiel, and Aubrey Rapp; a great grandchild, Caleb Anderson; a sister, Cathy Righthour and a brother, Steven Rapp. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Burial will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
