Robert Matthew Hoover

Robert Matthew Hoover, age 84, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at his residence.

He was born in Erie, PA on December 31, 1938, a son of the late Paul and Margaret Lehan Hoover. 

He graduated from McDowell High School, class of 1957. Robert was enlisted in the National Guard. He then went on to attend Gannon University. He owned and operated Presque Isle Office Products for 31 years. Robert was a member of St. Jude’s Church, The Zukor Club, Siebenbuerger Club, American Legion Post, PASR, and formerly the East Erie Turners. He enjoyed camping, cars, car and travel trailer shows, as well as spending time with family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Audrey Treiber Hoover, two children, Timothy Hoover (Valerie) and Andrea (Mark) Gunns, all of Erie; five grandchildren, Nicholas Gunns (Randy), Alexandra Walker (Adam), Taylor Hoover (Mandy), Heather Gunns and Noah Hoover; three great-grandchildren, Leland Darnell, Lane Gunns and Arlo Hoover; and a sister, Ellen Wilson.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 West 6^th Street, on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10 AM.
