Robert Lindenberger, age 77, of McKean, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at South Baldwin Hospital in Foley, Alabama.
He was born in Erie, on February 2, 1945, a son of the late Edward and Mildred Smith Lindenberger.
Robert was graduate of Fairview High School and received an engineering degree from Penn State Behrend in Erie then served in the United States Army.
He founded Automated Industrial Systems in 1977 and has been the owner/CEO for over 50 years. He was a former member and past Master of Lake Erie Lodge No 347 F.&A.M.. He was a past member and elder of the Church of the Cross and taught Sunday school and served on the board of the Erie City Mission.
He was a Civil War collector and enjoyed boats and sailing in his free time and lived life to the fullest.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Coccarelli and brother in law, Ray Fairchild.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Margaret “Maggie” Lindenberger; two daughters, Renee (Barry) Allen and Hope D. Gomez; a son, Paul Lindenberger; seven grandchildren, Samantha Allen, Ryan Henry, Heidi Jones, Holli Swanson, Aiden Gomez, Florence Gomez and Eevee Gomez; and four great grandchildren; a sister, Sally Fairchild and a brother Jim (Valerie) Lindenberger and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard on Friday from 3:00pm until 6:00pm and on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm. Burial at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Erie City Mission, 1017 French Street, Erie, PA 16501 or to the charity of one’s choice.
