Robert M. Hall (Bob), 81, of the Springhill Retirement Community, Erie, PA; formerly of Mayville, NY died on November 14, 2014.

A Mayville resident for 32 years, Bob was born February 1st, 1933 in Boston MA, the son of the late Ralph and Billie Hall.

A graduate of Lehigh University with a BS degree in Finance & Accounting, Bob was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and the collegiate ice hockey team. He was employed by Mobile Oil, Welch’s, Falconer Plate Glass, and was the owner of Dick’s Harbor House in Mayville for 15 years.

Bob was a communicant at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Mayville. He was a member of the Board of Education of Chautauqua Central School for more than 10 years including multiple terms as Board President. He was also a member of Kiwanis International. Bob loved hockey, was a lifelong Bruins fan, and coached his son’s Chautauqua Lakers youth teams in Jamestown, NY. He enjoyed theater, playing bridge, traveling, and his poodles, Sophie and Charlie.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jean Metcalf; three children: Pamela (Phillip) Favret of Watertown NY, Stephen (Lisa) Hall of Poquoson VA, and Susan (Brian) Gleason of Ashville NY; two step children: David (Laurie Anne) Schnall, and Deborah (Michael) Oskin; and eleven grandchildren: Caitlyn, Christopher, Andrew and Richard Hall, Samantha and Jacob Favret, Drew and Alex Gleason, Kenneth and Abigail Schnall, and Allison Oskin.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Molly.

A memorial service will be held at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 99 S. Erie St, Mayville, 14757 on Wednesday November 26th at 3PM. Visitation will not be observed.
