Robert Case, Sr.

July 27, 1935 — May 31, 2015

     Robert Paul Case, Sr., 79, of Millcreek went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Millcreek Community Hospital. He was born July 27, 1935, in Erie, PA, son of the late Harold and Wendella Carlson Case. He attended Irving and Roosevelt Schools, graduated from Strong Vincent High School, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the Behrend Campus of Penn State University. A ten year veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserves, Mr. Case worked at Ervite Corp., Automation Devices, AMSCO-Steris, and General Electric, retiring in July 1997. He was a
National Productivity Award winner, was a member of General Electric GEER, and a member and past secretary of GE’s Elfun Society. He was a life member of National Association of Purchasing Management Erie District 6, where he achieved Certification of Purchasing Management and Lifetime Certification, served as Erie Chapter President, and District 6 Public Relations Chairman and Vice-Chairman. He also belonged to Tyrian-Commonwealth Lodge No. 362 F.& A.M., Erie Consistory, Scottish Rite-Valley of Erie, and Zem Zem Temple.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Case; granddaughter, Michelle Geddes Willey; and great-granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Case.
     Survivors include his wife of 61 years and Love of his Life, Elizabeth "Betsy" Anne Ressler Case, whom he married November 17, 1953, in Ripley, NY; two daughters, Cindy L. Geddes (Larry) and Deborah S. Bauman; two sons, Robert P. Case, Jr. (Mary) and Paul D. Case, Sr. (Wendy); a sister, Donna Case Swager (Don); two brothers, Richard Case (Regina) and David Case (Jeanette); seven grandchildren, Jennifer Geddes-Hall (Tukuli), Justin Bauman, Kelly Bauman, Paul Case, Jr., James Case, Scott Case (Amy), and Matthew Case; two great-grandsons, Hunter and Jaxon Case; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Shotzie.
     Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1002 Powell Ave., Friday, June 5, 2015, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Gayle H. Zackrison officiating.  Private Inurnment will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Military Honors provided by Erie Crawford County Burial Detail.  Flowers are gratefully declined. The family requests memorials be made to Michelle’s Ray of Hope (a foundation honoring the memory of Mr. Case’s granddaughter), P.O. Box 283, Osprey, FL 34229; or to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1002 Powell Ave, Erie PA 16505.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street.
