Robert B. Carman, age 82, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at St. Vincent Health Center.
He will always be remembered as a gentle man with kind eyes.
He was born in Meadville, PA on June 16, 1938, a son of the late Alton and Agnes Foreman Carman.
After graduating from high school, Robert went on to serve eight years in the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam.
He currently was working for First Student as a bus driver; and had worked for various companies, including Bucyrus Erie, traveling as an erector.
Robert was a member of St. Andrew’s Church and was currently a member at Real Life Assembly.
His hobbies included, gardening, bowling, and traveling with his wife, Judy.
He volunteered for a John 21:17- Feed My Sheep Ministry, feeding the homeless and helpless. In addition to caring for foster children and foreign exchange students in his home for many years, he also volunteered for Royal Kids Camp for foster children of Erie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Carl Carman.
Robert is survived by his wife, Judy Mezler Carman; his children: Babette Carman (James Rosenthal) of NYC, Robert Carman II (Karen) of Burnham, PA, Brigette Carman (Thom Lang) of NYC, Kurtis Carman (Stacy), Mitchell Carman (Michelle), Michael Carman (companion, Jen Keverline), all of Erie and Kraig Carman (Brandy) of Columbus, OH; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Real Life Assembly, 3902 W. 38th St. on Saturday, May 8th 2021 from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am with Pastor Jim Grove officiating. All CDC guidelines will be followed.
Burial will be private.
