Robert Burick

Robert J. Burick, age 77, of Clymer, New York and formerly of Harborcreek, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services following an extended illness.

He was born in Erie on February 25, 1938 a son of the late Michael and Florence Strohmeyer Burick.

Robert was a graduate of Lawrence Park High School. He was a standout athlete in High School especially in football. Robert worked at Hammermill as a wood room operator retiring with over 30 years of service.

Robert’s greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He loved hunting and fishing with them and also enjoyed watching them play sports. He also enjoyed golfing with his friends.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Josephine (Nardis) Burick, a daughter Kathleen Burick and a brother, John Burick.

Robert is survived by his son, Michael Burick and his wife Karissa, five grandchildren, Riley, Branda, Caleb, Denali and Dawson; three sisters, Dorothy, Arlene and Mary Lou and a brother Donald, along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his many Amish friends who lived nearby his home.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, on Monday from 5 until the time of service at 7 p.m.

Private burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
