Rita M. Szymecki

Rita M. Szymecki, age 75, of Erie, passed away on Friday, July 26th, 2024, at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Titusville, PA on December 13, 1948, a daughter to the late Walter J. and June E. Mitchell Hyde.

Rita loved all animals, especially her spunky dachshund who brought her joy. She enjoyed reading about history, researching genealogy, gardening, making crafts, and having long chats about life with friends and family. She was devoted to her faith and was a dedicated member to the Catholic church for many years. 

She is survived by her husband, John Szymecki; her four children, Michelle Szymecki, Shawn Fox, Sarah Szymecki, and Elizabeth Szymecki; three grandchildren, Isaac, Ashlee, and Samuel; as well as three sisters, Connie Callahan, Yvonne Kemick, and Sheila Will.

Private arrangements entrusted to Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie.
