Rita Reichard

     Rita Aucker Reichard, age 88, of Erie, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge.  She was born on March 29, 1930, in Tionesta, Pa., daughter of the late Jacob Reed and Olive Louella Wise Aucker.  Rita attended schools in Tionesta and Grove City, and graduated from Colestock High School, Class of 1947, in Titusville, Pa.  Upon graduation she moved to Erie for employment at Bell Telephone which later became GTE where she retired in 1992 after 44 years of service.  She was a long time member of Luther Memorial Church where she was active with the Prayer Group, the Women of the ELCA, the Altar Guild, and the OWLS Group.

     On September 4, 1964, Rita married the love of her life, Robert Earl Reichard.  They shared 40 wonderful years together until his passing in 2004. 

     In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her only sibling, Gloria Jacqueline Aucker Lamb.

     Surviving Rita are her niece and nephews, Laura Marie Lamb Wickline and her husband John Wickline and daughter Natalie Rose Wickline of McLean, VA, Michael Reed Lamb and his wife Deborah Cogle Lamb and two children, Megan Elizabeth Lamb and Alyson Reed Lamb of Ashburn, VA, and Craig Rollison Lamb and his wife Connie Kuniko Kuramoto Lamb of Houston, TX.; her dearest friend from birth, Alice Bovard Reynolds of Tionesta, Pa., now residing in Los Angeles, CA.; and numerous cousins and friends.  Rita is further survived by her "adopted" Erie family: Eunice, Ethan and Evelyn Moore.

     Friends may attend a Memorial Service at Luther Memorial Church, 225 West 10th Street, Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. William Collman officiating.  All are invited to re-assemble at Mount Collins Cemetery, Tionesta, Pa., at 2:45 p.m. for a Committal Service.
