Rita Jackson

Rita R. Jackson, age 92, of Millcreek, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge.

She was born in Erie on July 3rd, 1924, a daughter of the late Carl and Hazel Matthew Rapp.

Rita graduated from Academy High School. She worked at Carlisle’s, Peebles and prior to that as a Secretary for I.D. Jackson and Sons. Since the early 1960’s Rita was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harold I. Jackson, daughter-in-law, Darlene Jackson, a grand-daughter, Michelle Jackson and five brothers and one sister.

She is survived by two sons, David H. Jackson and his wife Linda of Erie and Scott Jackson of Fairview, five grandchildren, Mike Jackson, Julie Connor, Sarah Cubero, Philip Jackson and Beckie Jackson, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a service at Wayside Presbyterian Church, 1208 Asbury Road, on Monday at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. James F. Bernhardt and Reverend Keith Sundberg co-officiating.

Private burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
