Ricki Eugene Ballman was born on September 13, 1951 to Harriet and the late Eugene Ballman. He graduated from Academy High School in 1970 and worked at Frontier Lumber. He previously worked for several years at General Electric and in the family business, Erie Ambulance.
After a long illness, he entered in to our Lord’s loving arms June 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving mom and family. His journey continues in Heaven with all those who were waiting for him and a party commenced, we’re sure with the Beatles blaring away and Red Stag in hand. He lived through a time where he got to see and enjoy the last of the great bands.
His kind heart and gentle soul will always be remembered. He loved spending time with his brothers at South Erie Turners, where he was a lifelong member and longest serving Board of Director. He was a long suffering Browns and Indians fan. He also enjoyed competing against family members while watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He was also a member of Holy Rosary Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved cat, Oreo; his sister Karen; his brother, Arthur; niece, Erika De Salvatore and brother-in-law, John Cunningham.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Michael Ballman (Patty), Deborah Ballman, Douglas Ballman (Elaine), Gary Ballman (Jenny), Sally Cunningham, Corinne Peters (Larry), Mary Raupers (Paul) and Phyllis Fedorchak (Mark). He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the workers of Asera Care Hospice. Without them, we would not have been able to get him home so quickly. We would also like to acknowledge the great care given to him by his special nurse, Mark Fedorchak.
