Richard S. Wisniewski, age 79, beloved husband, father, and Dziadzia (grandfather) went to his eternal rest on December 1, 2022, following a lengthy illness. Richard was born in Erie on June 10, 1943, a son of the late Stanley H. and Anna Golembiewski Wisniewski.
Richard is a graduate of Academy High School, Class of '62 and there enjoyed football and track. Following graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Navy and then moved to Florida where he studied at Daytona Beach Community College. He was proud to be a graduate of Florida Technological University with degrees in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.
Following college graduation, he began a career which he loved in sales and marketing of food and beverage. He first accepted a position with Beverage Canners International based in Miami, Florida and later with Excelsior Marketing with offices in Buffalo, Syracuse, and Albany, New York.
Richard had a zest for travel and visited so many places in Europe, the U.S, Canada, Ireland, Hong Kong, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, and South America. He never hesitated to sample all the wonderful food and beverages. As ill as he was, he still was planning future trips.
Prior to his illness, in addition to all the world travel, Richard enjoyed running, golfing, playing cards, swimming, boating, and fishing. He loved the water and he and Diane enjoyed trips too numerous to count on land, on the sea, or on a river cruise.
This handsome man was six foot four and so much more. He had a wonderful smile and beautiful blue eyes that twinkled. He leaves us to cherish so many memories. Friends called him a prince, a great dancer, charming, and romantic. All will miss his sense of humor.
Richard loved animals and often spoke about his pony Patches, his horse Pearl, Bailey the Cat, or Honey and Franco the Golden doodles who gave him so much love and pleasure every day.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife Diane Davis Wisniewski, three daughters and four granddaughters. Lauren Falabella, Cara Culliver, and Sierra Culliver of Ormond Beach, Florida, Stacy Sansone Fox (husband Patrick) and Fiametta (Fia), Gabriella (Gabby), Ellyanna (Elly) Fox of Erie, sisters Barbara Perry and Connie Kirclich (husband Tom) of Erie, his deeply loved and identical twin brother Raymond S. Wisniewski (wife Becky) of Auburn, NY and a special nephew Scot Wisniewski (husband David Schecter) of Skaneateles, NY.
We come with nothing and we go with nothing, but one great thing we can achieve in our beautiful life is a little remembrance in someone's mind and a small place in someone's heart. We hold you there Richard and we always will. See you on the other side...
Per Richard's wishes arrangements were private and entrusted to Burton, Quinn, Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, Inc., 602 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16502.
