Richard Wasikowski

Richard F. Wasikowski, Sr., age 74 of Erie, died Monday, November 10, 2014 at Millcreek Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Erie on November 16, 1939, the son of the late Frank and Genevieve Szablewski Wasikowski.

Richard attended East High School and was a welder at Zurn Industries for many years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed carving wooden ducks, and was a member of S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie, the Polish Falcons, and Ducks Unlimited. Richard enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judith, and his sister Gertrude “Gerty” Reichel.

Survivors include three children: Diane Wasikowski, Richard F. Wasikowski, Jr., Judy Seroka and her husband Edward Warrington; two grandchildren: Cody Seroka and Brandi Roberts; his sister Veronica Migdal and her husband Tom, and several nieces and nephews. Sisters-in-law Melody Barczynski, Sandra Shepard, and Jackie Posten, and brother-in-law Robert Shepard also survive.

Private services will be held at Presque Isle Shelter No. 3 on Friday.
