Richard E. Waller, age 90, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Garrettsville, OH on July 14, 1925, a son of the late Lloyd and Helen Stratton Waller.
Richard served in the United States Navy during World War II and then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Hiram College. He was an engineer at Erie Bolt for over 20 years.
Richard, from shortly after his discharge from the Navy (after WW-2), was a private pilot until the 1970's. He was an Avid sailor and was a Past Commodore of the Erie Yacht Club. He was passionate about the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians and loved to watch their games.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Johnson Waller in 2006.
Survivors include a daughter Mary Lou Muckleroy and her husband Jeff of Ohio and a son Steven and his wife Lora of Greensburg, PA.
Private arrangements were entrusted to Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street Erie, PA 16506.
