Richard “Rich” C. Trabinger
Richard “Rich” C. Trabinger, age 60, of Fairview, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 7, 2014.
Born February 16, 1954, in Erie, he was the son of Margaret “Peg” Hughes Howell Trabinger of Erie and the late Arthur Trabinger. Rich was a 1972 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and then received a degree in business from Gannon University. He worked in sales with the Talking Phone Book for many years. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a New York Mets fan. Rich attended St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Fairview.
In addition to his father, Rich was preceded in death by his uncle, Jack Howell. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Katherine Gustafson; a daughter, Ashley V. Trabinger and her companion Scott Miller of Millcreek; a godson, Nicholas Turos of Baltimore, MD; two aunts: Nancy Ware and her husband Gene and Charmaine Howell, all of Erie; and an uncle, Tom Hughes and his wife Dory of Austin, TX; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 1070 Dutch Road, Fairview, with Rev. Elisabeth Fitzgibbons officiating. Burial will be private at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Orphan Angels, 5439 West Lake Road, Erie, PA 16505 or to the Fairview Fire Dept., P.O. Box 69, Fairview, PA 16415.
