Richard “Dick” George Reislund, age 78, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born in Warren on July 8, 1944, son of the late George and Katherine (Lundmark) Reislund.
Dick graduated from Penn State University and went on to work as a sales engineer at Skinner Engine Company.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, trap shooting bowling, and hunting with his dog of choice – the English Springer Spaniel. He was a member of the GEM City Outdoorsmen Club where he served in various leadership roles, including president. Dick also enjoyed attending Swedish Festivals, completing Wonderword puzzles, bird watching, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley.
He is survived by his wife, who he met in his 10th grade art class at McDowell High School over 63 years ago, Carolyn Williams Reislund; two children, Rich and his wife Jennifer (Byers) Reislund and Connie and her husband Dan Rummer. He has 7 grandchildren, Stephanie, Jonathan, David and Cassie Reislund and Keegan, Liam and Kyla Rummer.
He will be missed by many, including his faithful companions, Misty and Smokey.
Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Private burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
