Richard P. Nather, Jr., age 55, of Erie, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness.
He was born in Erie, August 13, 1958, a son of the late Richard P. Sr. and Carol Ann Burns Nather.
Richard graduated from Tech Memorial High School, class of 1977. He was formerly employed for 25 years at Seaway Manufacturing in purchasing. He loved boating, restoring cars, shooting pool, playing darts, hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. He was an animal lover but most of all he was a very kind and giving man.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard is survived by his siblings, Timothy R. Nather, Kimberly Yurkewicz and her husband, Gary, Kevin Lee Nather, Sr. and his wife, Denise, all of Erie, and Tamara Jean Engle and her husband, Michael, of Hamlin, NY. Eight nieces and nephews, 2 great-nieces, and many cousins, aunts and uncles also survive.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street, Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of the prayer service at 7:00 pm with Rev. Dennis Chludzinski officiating.
Burial will be private at the family’s convenience.
