Richard (Dick) Miklinski, age 77, of Harborcreek, died Tuesday, April 12 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie, PA on December 2, 1938, a son of the late Alexander and Catherine (Jalinski) Miklinski.
Richard was a 1957 graduate of Academy High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-1962. He was a resident of San Diego, CA where he met his wife Linda. They celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary this past November. Dick was a painting contractor and co-owner of Contractors Decorating Service, retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed traveling and especially spending time on the beaches of Southern California. His favorite activities included camping, golfing, playing tennis, and the family trips to Florida. He was the #1 fan of his four sons' sports' teams and most recently of his grandchildren's activities.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles, and sisters Florence, Gertrude, and Dorothy. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Brown) Miklinski whom he married on November 27, 1965; four children, Rick (Shelley) of Chicago, Mark (Laura) of Harborcreek, Kurt (Lauren) of Newport Beach, CA, and Nick (Anna) of Bangkok, Thailand; grandchildren Michael and Matthew, Alex and Jordyn, and Brinkley; brother, Alexander; sisters Therese Hahn, Rose Hardin, Marg Cutri, Joan Tonge, and Annette Kruszewski; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510 on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Services and burial will be private at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery for family on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Northwestern PA Branch, 2816 Elmwood Avenue, Erie, PA 16508.
