Richard “Dick” L. Keverline age 93, of Erie and formerly of Bradford, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Manchester Commons in Erie, PA.
He was born in Bradford, PA on September 2,1931, the son of the late Walter and Florence Smith Keverline.
Richard graduated from Bradford High School and went on to serve in the United States Army in the Korean War. He worked at the Kendall Refinery (Witco Chemical) for over forty years. Richard was a long-time dedicated parishioner of St. Bernard parish in Bradford, PA.
Richard was a cherished family man who was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren and kept them laughing with his quick wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, and golfing. He was an amazing handyman who could fix anything and as a skilled mechanic was always in his garage working on cars. Richard was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He and his wife Barbara were active volunteers for the Red Cross having delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Keverline.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara Burton Keverline, who he has known since childhood; four daughters, Kathleen Dailey (Thomas), JoAnn Clark (Jerry), Mary Jo Herock (Michael) and Margaret Shembeda (Brian); grandchildren, Shawn and Christopher Dailey, Kristie and Kevin Clark, Meghan, Kyle, Erin and Cara Herock and Madeline, Violet, and Scarlett Shembeda; one great grandchild, Callan Dailey and another great grandson to be born soon.
The family would like to thank the staff of Manchester Commons for their compassion, love, and care shown to Richard.
Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church 2801 W. 6th Street, Erie, PA 16505. A private graveside service at St. Bernard Cemetery will follow the funeral.
