Richard Horn

Richard J. Horn, age 81, of Fairview, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013, at Pleasant Ridge Manor West. Born on November 7, 1931, in Salem, PA, he was the son of the late William and Viola Gearheart Horn. Richard served in the US Army during the Korean War as a paratrooper and was employed at Parker White Metal Company until his retirement. He enjoyed golf, walking everywhere and had a wonderful gift of gab.

Richard is survived by three daughters: Donna Heitman and her husband Ernest of Girard, Sallie Burch and her husband Andrew of Fairview, and Melissa Dillon and her husband David of Perry, NY; two sons, Brian Horn and his wife Wendy of Erie and James W. Horn of Fairview; two sisters: Emma Royer and her husband Richard of Erie and Helen Jenny of Salem, fourteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the All Faiths Chapel. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Ridge Manor Volunteer Services, 8300 West Ridge Road, Girard, PA 16417.
