Richard Todd Hollinsworth, 64, of Erie, died on Monday, June 18, 2018, at UPMC Hamot following a long illness. He was born on May 5, 1954, in Erie, son of the late Vincent F. and Ellen Jean Robertson Hollinsworth. A 1973 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, he also graduated from the Erie School District Welding Trade School. Rich was a painting contractor co-owning Top Quality Painting and Coating for 30 years until his retirement in 2004. He had also worked for Halles Department Store, Richmond Brothers, Red Wing Shoes and National Forge. Rich had a wonderful voice and was the lead singer for the "Everyday People Show Band" which performed throughout the Erie area. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and season ticket holder, loved to cook, and enjoyed birdwatching, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary T. Hollinsworth.
Survivors include his wife, Karen J. Clark Cocco Hollinsworth; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Vollentine and husband Ron of Erie; two brothers, Dennis L. Hollinsworth of Erie and Scott T. Hollinsworth of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; and a sister, Laura L. Hollinsworth of Erie.
Friends may call Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street. A service will be held there Saturday at Noon with the Rev. Kristen Papson, of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating. Friends are also invited to attend a graveside Committal Service at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Section 5, on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11 a.m.
