Richard Gresh

Richard Joseph Gresh, age 74, of Cranesville, Pa. died Friday, August 23, 2013 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Conneaut, OH on May 9, 1939, son of the late John Gresh and Eleanor Pesta Gresh of Pleasant Ridge Manor. Richard was a graduate of Albion High School, class of 1957, and was employed by Parker White Metal (P.H.B.) Die Casting; where he worked in the shipping department. He retired from Parker White Metal (P.H.B.) after 40 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His two favorite things were being out on the family farm, and riding his John Deere Gator. Richard was also involved in the Fairview Fire Department, and a member of the Turkey Federation. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernest and Gladys Leopold, and a brother-in-law, Thomas Leopold. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lynda Gresh of Cranesville, Pa., he is also survived by his daughter, Tammy Bard, and her husband, Jim of Mt. Jewett, Pa., and their children: Jamie, Chelsi, and Kaysea Bard. Two sons: Timothy Gresh of Philadelphia, Pa., and Terry Gresh and his wife Dena, of Cranesville, Pa.; their sons Tyler and Dylan Gresh. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. A brother- in -law, Richard Leopold of Florida, sister- in- law, Brenda Bell and husband, John of Harleysville, Pa.; their three sons: Thomas, Jake, and Douglas Bell. Sister-in-law Patty Leopold ( wife of the late Thomas Leopold); their children: Scott Leopold, Kristen Leopold, Michelle Linkowski, and Mike Grimaldi. Richard was also preceded in death by his loving faithful friend and longtime golden retriever companion, Taffy. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard Monday from 2:00pm till 4:00pm and 7:00 till 9:00pm. And are invited to attend a prayer service there on Tuesday at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 180 State Street, Albion, PA officiated by Father Phil Oriole.
