Richard Gilson

October 12, 1938 — September 4, 2015

Richard L. Gilson, 76, died on Friday, September 4, 2015, at his home in Titusville, Pa.  He was born on October 12, 1938, in Titusville, son of the late Miller C. and Lena L. Parrett Gilson.  

He was a self-employed logger, had  worked as a fracker and well tender for Thomas Oil and Gas and for Quaker State, worked for Spartywood, and provided transportation for the Amish Community.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, doing yard work, telling jokes, and spending time with family.
    
Survivors include his wife, Juanita E. Marsh Gilson; a daughter, Mindy Gilson-Singelton of Titusville; three sons, Wayne A. Gilson, Sr. and companion Tracy Smith of Hydetown, PA, Russell S. Gilson of Titusville and Luke E. Gilson and fiancé Kortni Lawson of North East, PA; three sisters, Martha Miller and Mildred Kenney both of Titusville and Edna Irwin of Toledo, OH; seven grandsons, Wayne A. Gilson, Jr., Michael Singelton, Kevin Jackson, Justin Gilson, Aden Anderson, Jacobey Gilson and Jaiden Grey; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, PA.
