Richard R. Friedemann, 81, of Erie, passed away, Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Fairview Manor. He was born on January 21, 1937 in Erie a son of Eric Friedemann and Elizabeth Butt Friedemann. He married Bonnie Oakley on May 15, 1965.
He was a 1955 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and a graduate of Penn State Behrend with an associates degree in Business Administration.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Richard was employed with Bucyrus-Erie for 10 years before going to work for General Electric where he retired from as a supervisor. Following his retirement he was employed with Wegman’s in the deli for 17 years.
He was involved with the Millcreek Youth Athletic Association for 20 years, commissioner of the Pony League, and was a member American Legion Post 773.
Richard was a huge Browns, Indians, and Cavs fan. He enjoyed yard work and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his loving wife Bonnie, he is survived by a son, Jeff R. Friedemann and his wife, Ann of Erie; a daughter, Laurie L. Reesman and her husband, Jack of Erie; four grandchildren, Rachel Friedemann, Jackson Reesman, Abigail Reesman and Nicole Malinowski; his beloved dog, Levi and his close friends, Mary and Don Chludzinski.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Roy P. Washill, officiating at Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, PA.
