Richard Earl Deming, a dedicated and skilled individual who spent his career working for Liberty Iron & Metal and showcasing his talent as a diesel mechanic, peacefully passed away on March 25, 2024, at LECOM at Village Square. He was born in Landstuhl, Germany on September 21, 1954. Richard's passion for learning led him to earn his GED and obtain certificates from various trade schools.
His life was marked by service and sacrifice as he joined the United States Marine Corps and bravely fought in the Vietnam War. Richard's proudest accomplishments were displayed in his unwavering commitment to always assisting his family with any car troubles that came their way.
In his leisure time, Richard found joy in watching The Fast & Furious movies, working on cars, and following sports - with a particular love for Ohio State football and the Cleveland Browns.
Richard will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 26 years, Linda Abbott Deming. He is also survived by his step children Christina Britton (Jeremy) and Michael Schreffler (Kristina), as well as grandchildren Jonah Britton, Emma Britton, Piper Schreffler, Mason Schreffler, Kalyn Schreffler. He is further survived by several sisters.
He has now reunited with his parents, Marc and Grace Walter Genua and daughter, Tahnee Taylor, in eternal peace.
An 11:00 AM graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Richard will take place on April 13, 2024, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Erie, Pennsylvania. Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 West 10th Street, Erie, PA 16502.
Richard's legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his presence. May he rest in peace.
