Richard Courtney

Richard Courtney, age 79, of Erie, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at UPMC Hamot Hospital. He was born February 3, 1941 to the late Cassius and Gladys Bailey Courtney, in Atlantic, PA. Richard graduated from Wesleyville High School, class of 1958 before enlisting in the United States Navy. After his service in the Navy, he worked as a mechanic until his retirement at age 65.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Kindle Dreyer Courtney, sisters Donna Mae Courtney Schroeder, Linda Courtney Pfadt, Coleen Ferra, and a brother Daniel Ferra.

He is survived by his children, Richard Courtney II (Barbie) and Jodi Courtney, and step children John Dreyer and Jeanene Gunter (John). Richard is further survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and brothers Cassius Ralph Courtney (Brigitte) and Jon Ferra.  

Inurnment with full military honors will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown 602 W. 10^th Street, Erie.
