Richard Chauncey

Richard C. Chauncey, age 88, of Erie, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was born in Hammond, Indiana on July 17, 1928 son of the late Amber Clayton Chauncey and Mary Anderson Patton Chauncey.

Richard attended Academy High School. He was a mailman at Behrend College for 22 years. He was a World War II Vet that served his country in the Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Chauncey, grandson, Richard A. Chauncey, three sisters, Virginia Mann, Margie Hobbie, Charlotte Bettis, and three brothers, Welland Cross, George Chauncey and Katheryn Strong.

He is survived by a four children, Richard Chauncey Jr. and wife, Joyce of Corry, Art Chauncey of Girard, Sheila East and husband Richard of Millcreek, and Tara Hartman and husband Tim, of Greene Township. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Burial will be private at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
