Richard Lee Ballard, Sr., age 70, of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Birmingham, AL on February 25, 1951, a son of the late Vernon L. and Mildred Boling Ballard.
Richard graduated from Conneaut Valley High School.
He retired from Modern Industries in 2013 after 37 years.
Richard loved guns, poker, politics, reading and Big Foot; but most of all his family- especially his grand children and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Lee Ballard, Jr; and his sisters, Rhonda Beagly and Terry Ballard.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Carnes (Gary) of Girard; his siblings: Roger Ballard of Birmingham, AL, Cynthia Wyatt (Gerald) of Alabaster, AL, Jeffrey Ballard (Brenda) of Montgomery, AL, Rebecca Eads of Birmingham AL, Daniel Ballard (Joy) of Leeds, AL and Crystal Sheah of Pelham, AL; five grandchildren: Tia and Paige Carnes, Eric and Adam Ballard and Lizzie Plyler. He is further survived by 3 great grandchildren, Jaxon, Lilly and Payden as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East on Monday, June 21st from 2pm until the time of the service at 4:30 pm.
