Richard Augustine

Richard “Rich” S. Augustine, age 61, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at his residence.

He was born in Erie on April 25, 1955, a son of the late John and Marjorie Kuhl Augustine.

As a young man, Rich was an outstanding athlete and graduated from McDowell High School, Class of 1973. He worked as a brick mason and was a member of the Local # 9, Bricklayers Union. Richard was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and bowling. He was also an avid Steeler’s fan.

Richard is survived by five children, Melissa Vybiral, Christine Samuelson and her husband Joshua both of Erie, Richard S. Augustine, II and his wife Kimberly of Savannah, GA, Lacey Augustine of Clearwater, FL and Scot Augustine of Pittsburgh, PA; nine grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Austen, Alexandra, Arianna, Jackson, Ryan, William and Harrison; a sister, Kathryn Laino of New York City, NY and a brother, John Augustine of Erie. Two nieces, a nephew and a very close friend, John also survive.

Friends are invited to a time of sharing at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue,) on Monday from 3 to 5 p.m.
