Raymond “Ray” Horn, age 84, of Erie, passed away on June 27, 2013 at UPMC Hamot as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born in Erie, PA on August 10, 1928 a son of the late Earl Horn and Ethel Thornton Brookhouser.
Raymond served in the United States Army in Korea and went on to be employed at General Electric and Smith Meter.
He was a member of New Apostolic Church and enjoyed collecting old items for resale. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time outdoors.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings; Gladys Gorski, Frank, Sheldon, Marion and Nelis Ploss, Linda Dine, Alice Wade, and Lorna Chrzanowski.
Survivors include his wife Nellie (Bernsley) Horn; three daughters; Debra Mann of Slippery Rock, PA; Elaine (Richard) Gervasoni of Slippery Rock, PA and Carrie (Ronald) Anderson of North East, PA. Ray also leaves 9 grandchildren, 17 great Grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way. He is further survived by his siblings Helen Wolf, Wilma Harkins, Wanita Orzechowski, Lillian Takash, Lila Hoover and Charles Ploss.
Friends are invited to call at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home 2532 Norcross Road Erie, PA 16510 on Monday from 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm until the time of service there at 8:00 p.m. with Bishop Ron Whited officiating.
