Raymond A. Griffin, Sr., age 76, of Fairview, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born in Hendersonville, PA on August 13, 1938, the son of the late George F. and Helen Cozad Griffin.
Raymond entered the U.S. Air Force after graduation from Franklin High School in 1956. He was a tool and die maker, his whole life and had worked at Matrix Tool for the last 21 years. Raymond was a member of the Saegertown Area Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed trap shooting. His family meant the world to him, he was lovingly referred to as Gramps.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna L. Perrine Griffin; two sons: Allan Griffin and his wife Melissa of Emmaus, PA, Brian L. Griffin of Fairview, and daughter, Shelly Novak and her husband Dean of Fairview; two brothers: Jay Griffin and his wife Kathleen of Ellwood City, Larry Griffin and his wife Maria of Gilbertsville, PA; four grandchildren: Maggie Griffin, Hannah Rose Griffin, Brittany Maynard and Conner Novak; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home Girard, 525 Main St. East, in Girard on Tuesday from 1-3 pm and 5 until the time of the service at 7 pm. Burial will be at a later date at Fairview Cemetery.
