Raymond J. Delinski, Sr., age 79, went to eternal rest on Friday December 15, 2017 at theVA Medical Center. He was born in Erie, Pa. on November 25, 1938, a son of Leo J. and Mary Kalista Delinski.
Raymond was a 1953 graduate of St. Stanislaus and graduated from East High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1957-1959. He worked as a general manager at Goodyear Tire Co. on Peach Street and at George Ray in Dunkirk, NY.
He was a member of the Siebenberger Club and enjoyed riding horses, hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, and scuba diving.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by five brothers, Ted, Harry (PEP), Thomas, Ronald and Robert; six sisters, Dorothy Phenneger, Gertrude Bolla, Theresa Smith, Irene Spaulding, Marie Shrieber and Rosemary Cochran; his son, Raymond John Delinski, “Jr.” in 2012; and his daughter Cheryl Kania in 2016 and son-in-law Casimir Kania, three weeks ago.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Theresa Louise Karmazin Delinski, the “love of his life” whom he married on October 14, 1961; his one granddaughter, Arianne Kania (Alex) Stearns; a great granddaughter Alexandria Stearns; and daughter-in-law, Tresa Delinski; a sister, Louise Grolemund of Erie; and a brother, Richard Delinski and wife Judy of Washington D.C. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road on Sunday Dec. 17th from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning, December 18th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 130 E 4th St, Erie, PA 16507, with Fr. John Malthaner presiding. Following mass, full military honors will be observed just outside the church. Private inurnment will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery on Tuesday December 19th.
