Raymond A. Czarnecki
Raymond A. Czarnecki, age 74, of Erie died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at UPMC Hamot. He was born May 24, 1940 in Erie, the son of the late Raymond and Frances Mientkiewicz Czarnecki.
Raymond attended Gannon College and served with the US Navy aboard the Intrepid during the Korean War. He retired in 2000 from General Telephone Co where he had worked as an installer and repairman. Raymond was an avid boater and enjoyed the outdoors.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hain Czarnecki; three brothers, Ronald, Thomas, and Adrian Czarnecki.
Raymond is survived by his children; Kimberly Nelon and her husband Flint of Sunnyview, NC; Kenneth Czarnecki, US Army ret. and his wife Lori of Arab, AL; Kathleen Czarnecki Smith and her wife Tina of Erie; and Kirk Czarnecki of Erie. He is the brother of David Czarnecki and his wife Sarah, and Lorraine Haibach, all of Erie. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Ken Czarnecki, Jr., Christopher Czarnecki, Tayler Czarnecki, and Micheala Nelon along with his grandpup, Daphne Marie.
Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Friday from 2-5 & 7-9 PM and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Saturday at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
