He was born in Olean, NY on August 9, 1920, a son of the late John and Lennie Bingham Chisholm.
Pete graduated from Butler High School, attended Penn State University and then Syracuse University. He was a Master Sgt. In the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, and later was in the National Guard, 112th Infantry, 28th Division for several years. Pete was the executive secretary of the Erie Chamber of Commerce for 15 years and worked at Smith Meter Company for 10 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte, FL, the American Legion and the V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Taylor Chisholm, his son Dennis J. Chisholm, a brother, Robert Chisholm, and a sister Winnie Green.
Survivors include one son, John T. Chisholm and his wife Linda of Erie; two grandchildren: Jonathan Chisholm and wife Marina, Kaitlin Chisholm and great granddaughter Aleksandra Chisholm, and a brother, Hudson Chisholm of McKean.
