Raymond Bailey

Raymond T. Bailey, age 57 of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Ray was born in Erie on November 25, 1961, a son of Raymond H. Bailey, and the late Vena L. Watson Bailey.

Raymond graduated from McDowell High School in 1979, and he enlisted into the U.S. Army shortly after serving at West Point and attended the Criminal Justice Academy. He was an honor guard military policeman and served as Special Forces during his time.

After serving, Ray went on to be a business owner in 1999, when Just Floors Inc. began. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and had a passion for collecting coins and currency. As his collection grew, he began a small business called Collector’s Edge and helped with several community coin events, giving knowledge of collecting to the Veterans of our Erie community at the VA Hospital. He loved being able to help others and pass along the wisdom he had obtained.

More than any professional accomplishments Ray was most proud of his family, his wife Susan and four children Dillon, Raymond A. (wife Rachel), Andrea Wolf (husband Michael), and Shelby Salvaggio (husband Zachary); his two granddaughters Ariana and Emma; and also the family dog Lilly. Also surviving are his sisters Lorraine Bailey and Tracy Bailey of Erie and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He always spoke so fondly of all of the memories spent together over the years. He was a man that could make anyone laugh, was always willing to help others, and loved unconditionally. He will truly be missed by his family and all that had known him. His life will be infinitely celebrated.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother Eugene Drake and a sister Cindy Drake.
