Raymon Porris

September 23, 1923 — November 17, 2012

Raymon S. Porris, age 89, of Erie, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 23, 1923 son of the late Charles and Irene Lavine Porris.

He was a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and attended Cleveland College leaving after the death of his father.

Raymon was a veteran of the United States Army serving with the Signal Corps in the European Theater during WWII.

Following his service to our Country he returned home and worked for his uncle at his Chrysler-Plymouth dealership. Raymon would go on to manage the Allen Theater in Cleveland, a combination of movies and live performances featuring new artists such as Frank Sinatra. He would come to Erie where he would own an Avis franchise and Erie Car Rental from which he retired.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Kramer.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Frances Kimmel Porris, whom he married on November 29, 1947; a son Richard S. Porris, of Erie; a daughter Janet Kreindel of Cleveland, OH; and two grandchildren Samantha and Eric Kreindel, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. on Tuesday from 10am until the time of services at 11am with Rabbi John Bush.

Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
