Randy S. Nielson, Sr., 60, of Coaldale, PA died October 1st, 2021 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA of COVID-19.
He was married to Teresa (Wyatt) Nielson. He was an employee of Tobyhanna Army Depot and earned the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service for his support as an electronics mechanic during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also a truck driver and an automobile mechanic for multiple companies. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology at Lincoln Technical Institute in Allentown, PA.
Born in Bethlehem, PA, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Gail M. (Nielson) Horn.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nicole S. Horn.
Surviving are his children, Randy S. Nielson, Jr., Christa M. Nielson, Amanda L. Nielson and Robert E. “Jay” Nielson; Brothers, Walter Horn and his wife, Wendy, Kelly Horn and his wife, Linda; sisters, Rebecca Whittington, Tracy Montesrin, Tina Gwynne and her husband, JC; and three granddaughters.
He was a kind person always offering to help someone in need or fill a missing role in their life. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Titusville, PA. His hobbies included coin and gun collecting, tattoo art, fixing just about anything with a motor and fishing, but most of all he loved to ride his Harley Davidson. He is now riding free.
