Ralph T. Heil age 83 of Erie, passed away quietly at home on Saturday, January 21, 2017. He was born in Erie, PA on August 16, 1933 a son of the late Theodore and Bertha Schwab Heil. After graduating from Tech High School in 1951 he served in the US Army stationed in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a supervisor in the plastic manufacturing industry for over 40 years including owning his own molding company in the 1970s. After retirement and becoming bored he went back to work as a driver for Loomis Armored Vehicles. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan as well as the Detroit Redwings. He enjoyed cars, especially Cadillacs, reading and listening to classical music. Ralph was also a member of the Erie Maennerchor Club and the Siebenbuerger Club.
In addition to his wife Rebecca McMinn Heil of Erie, Ralph is further survived by two children; Mark Heil (Lisa) of Erie and Deborah Heil of Crystal Beach, Florida along with grandchildren; Nicholas and Tessa also of Florida. He also leaves a step daughter, Emily Trejchel (Todd) also of Erie and two sisters; Helen Kiehlmer of Erie and Marion Bruinix of New York. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also remain along with his beloved beagle Bailey. Services and burial were private at the family’s convenience.
