Eugene Bossart, 94, formerly of Erie, died Sat., Nov. 12, 2011 in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born Feb. 9, 1917, in Erie, son of the late Samuel and Maybelle Earnest Bossart. He graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1933 and was a graduate of Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Army. Mr. Bossart taught music at the University of Michigan for over 30 years and was a concert pianist, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor MI, Ann Arbor Golden Rule Masonic Lodge and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Detroit. He was a former member of Cascade Methodist Church in Erie.
He was Preceded in death by a sister, Bess Bossart; a brother, Theodore E. Bossart; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Bossart.
Survivors include two nephews, Morgan H. Bossart and wife Laura of Erie and Theodore E. Bossart and wife Rosalie of Nokomis, FL; and a niece, Carolyn Ries and husband Larry of Stuart, FL.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St. Interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
