Phyllis Theisen

February 1, 1920 — July 26, 2018

Phyllis C. “Fifi” Theisen age 98, of Millcreek, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at her residence.

She was born in Eau Claire, WI on February 1, 1920 a daughter of the late Sever and Bess Goulet Severson.

Fifi graduated from Wausau High School in Wausau, Wisconsin in 1938.

She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Jude parish.

Fifi loved all genres of music and along with her husband, never missed a Saturday night, listening to her children’s popular band, WAVE. She also enjoyed golfing, skiing, swimming and playing bridge.

Fifi was feisty and strong, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and fiercely loved her family and friends. In this fast paced, modern world, where people always seem to be in a hurry, Fifi had the unique ability to connect with people. She always made an effort to make eye contact with complete strangers, smile and say hello, and often strike up a conversation. We could all take a lesson from her humanity and willingness to slow down, and really connect with each other.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene C. Theisen; a brother, Bud Severson and a sister, Eunice Myers.

She is survived by her four children, Jeffrey E. Theisen, Timothy J. Theisen, Anne E. Ferrando and her husband Robert, and Thomas P. Theisen; 8 grandchildren, James Theisen (Lauren), Dr. Jaime Swanson (Nick), JJ Theisen, Dr. Timothy M. Theisen (Jo Esq), Erin Chivers (Tim), Nicholas Ferrando, Melissa Lee (Bryan) and Brian Theisen; five great grandchildren, Lizzy, Annie, Evan, Burke, and Charley; many nieces and nephews and her dear friend of over 70 years, Winnie Spencer.

Services were held private at the convenience of the family. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675 or to the Second Harvest Food Bank 1507 Grimm Dr, Erie, PA 16501.
