Phyllis Taylor

Phyllis Marie Hamilton Lawrence Taylor, age 59, of Erie, died on Monday, January 21, 2013 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Farmville, VA on September 4, 1953, a daughter of Susie Mathews Hamilton of Warren, PA and the late Arthur Hamilton.

She was a graduate of Youngsville High School. Phyllis enjoyed attending Diabetes Expos, spending time with friends and family and spoiling her grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Hamilton and her nephew Kristin Gilson.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by four children, Tina (Ted) Terry of Spartansburg, South Carolina, Christopher (Marilyn) Taylor of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Robert (Jessica) Taylor of King George, Virginia and Melissa Shearer (Luis Gonzales) of Erie; a sister, Edith Gilson of Warren; and ten grandchildren, Markiece, Malique, Jahniere, Xavier, Izaiah, Brianna, Shania, Ella, Luis Jr. and Sumyi and many loving friends including a beloved friend Larry Abbatoy.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow in Erie Cemetery.
