Phyllis Lijewski

     Phyllis J. Buerk Lijewski, 75, of Erie, died Mon., June 18, 2012 at her residence.  She was born July 7, 1936 in St. Marys, PA, daughter of the late Regis A. and Isabel S. Brennen Buerk.  A 1954 graduate of East High School, she worked for Perry Truck and Erection from 1962 to 1973, for AMSCO from 1955 to 1962, and most recently as Financial Secretary for Erie Institute of Technology from 1973 until her retirement.  She attended the First Spiritualist Church of Erie.
     Survivors include her companion and care giver, Grant R. Weber; son, David A. Lijewski and wife Shari of Sykesville, MD; brother, David A. Buerk and wife Norma of Waterford; three granddaughters, Traci, Sara and Catherine Lijewski, all of Sykesville, MD; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and two dogs, Blu and Kodi.
     Her sister, Beverly Erickson, preceded her in death.
     Friends may call  at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Friday 2 to 6 p.m.  A service will be held there Saturday at 11 a.m.  with the Pastor of the First Spiritualist Church officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Sight Center of NW PA, 2545 W. 26th St., Erie, PA 16506.
