Phyllis Kierzek

Phyllis Wilkins Lafferty Kierzek, age 78, of Lake City, passed away Monday June 5, 2017 at Fairview Manor.

She was born in Erie on November 12, 1938, a daughter of the late Chester and Marian Pease Wilkins.

Phyllis graduated from McDowell High School.  She worked at Grants Department Store, Bucyrus Erie and also as the guidance secretary at McDowell High School.

She enjoyed sewing and loved her cats.  Her family was very important to her – especially her grandsons and loved spending time with them.  Phyllis helped with the family Business, Double LL Gifts for 10 years.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Waldo Lafferty and her second husband, Charles J. Kierzek; and a sister, Patricia McMaster.

She is survived by her children: Larry C. Lafferty of Lake City and Maureen VanMeter and her husband, Gary of Lake City; two grandsons, Garrett VanMeter and Patrick VanMeter, U.S. Navy; a brother, Dwight Wilkins and his wife Rosemary of Colorado Springs, CO.  She is further survived by many nieces and nephws.

 Funeral arrangements were private and held at the convenience of the family by Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East in Girard.
