Phyllis Hooper

Phyllis Yvonne Smith Hooper, age 76, of Erie, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at UPMC Hamot.

She was born on February 13, 1940, in Waterford, Pa., daughter of the late Kenneth Jeff and Evelyn Crocker Smith.

Phyllis attended Academy High School, worked at Chido's Dry Cleaners for 35 years, and was a huge animal lover.

Survivors include a son, Philip Hooper of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three sisters, Luella Heitzenrater and husband George and Betty Ann Lecker, all of Erie, and Carol June Smith of Waterford, Pa.; three grandchildren, Phylicia Hooper and fiancé Brad Baker of Waterford, Pa., and Heather Hooper and companion D.J. Garrison and James Philip Hooper, all of Pittsburgh, Pa.; five great-grandchildren, Jaydin Hooper and Layla, Aira and Kaedynce Baker, all of Waterford, Pa., and Madalynn Garrison of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and several nieces, a nephew, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Monday, January 23, 2017, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard A. Moyer officiating.
